General Questions
Q1. What is CPCatchtheAce.ca Raffle?
The “Catch the Ace” Raffle is a growing phenomenon among charities across the country. It is a progressive jackpot, multiple-draw, weekly raffle in which ticketholders have the chance to win a Weekly Prize AND the Progressive Prize IF you can Catch the Ace of Spades!
Q2. Where do the proceeds of the CPCatchtheAce.ca Raffle sales go?
The CPDMH Foundation and RCL Captain A. Roy Brown Branch 192 have a long strong history of partnership and in supporting the community. Having successfully concluded a 43-week long municipal Catch the Ace lottery in 2020, they have continued this partnership by taking the CPCatchtheAce.ca Raffle online. Proceeds from the sales of tickets support the important mandate of each organization. See the main page of the CPCatchtheAce.ca website for more information.
Q3. What percentage of the raffle proceeds are directed to the CPDMH Foundation and RCL Captain A. Roy Brown Branch 192?
Fifty percent of all raffle proceeds following other raffle costs, are split evenly between the CPDMH Foundation and the RCL Captain A. Roy Brown Branch 192 to support each organization.
Q4. I thought I could buy my tickets in person? Why can I only do it online now?
Yes, in 2020 when CPDMH Foundation and RCL Captain A. Roy Brown Branch 192 ran their last progressive Catch the Ace draw, it was done through a municipal raffle license and as such, tickets were ONLY available for purchase in person: You received a physical ticket and wrote your name and contact details on the stub. Conducting a raffle with a municipal license mean that there is a pre-set amount of tickets which could be sold each week: 384 for our last raffle to be exact. As the popularity of the raffle and the progressive pot grew, tickets were hard to come-by and many people missed out. Along with COVID restrictions which required us to “pause” our raffle for many weeks, going to an online platform made the most logical sense for our next step.
Through a provincial raffle license, there is no “cap” to the number of tickets sold each week. This means that we’re able to office “bulk ticket sales” which both increases your chances of winning AND does not limit the number of tickets that can be sold each week. It’s a WIN-WIN both for you and for our charitable organizations as we are able to raise even more for our important causes through CPCatchtheAce.ca raffle sales!
Q5. Do I have to purchase tickets with a Credit Card?
Yes, the only method to purchase tickets is by a VISA or MasterCard credit card.
Q6. What are the odds of winning in the CPCatchtheAce.ca Raffle?
The odds of winning a Weekly Prize draw depend on the number of tickets in the draw. There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be sold. The odds of selecting the envelope containing the Ace of Spades begins at 1 in 52 and these odds improve with each weekly removal of envelopes containing a card other than the Ace of Spades.
Q7. What is the CPCatchtheAce.ca Raffle Lottery License Number?
The CPCatchtheAce.ca Raffle license number is RAF1273934, as provided by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Q8. What if I purchased my tickets, but I haven’t received them at my email address?
- Please check you junk mail or spam folders in your email account. If there, select “not junk mail/spam” and, for future ticket purchases, these should go directly into your main inbox.
